The Dorman Library sponsors many activities, events, and programs that promote reading and becoming a life long learner who is productive in society.  The following is a listing of some of our major focus areas:

"One Tool at a Time" is a professional development series for educators.  The teacher librarians of Dorman lead individual sessions on a variety of topics, one at a time, to help our teachers build up their own skill base while at the same time adding some new tools to their teaching toolbox.  Topics have included Twitter, Pinterest, Ebooks, website development, Google Tools, and more.

The "Somewhat Virtual Book Club" has digitally brought together seven or more high school book clubs for the purpose of reflection, social interaction, and discussion of a favorite young adult book club.  The vehicles to bring the groups together range from Skype, Google Hangouts, and traditional webinar platforms.
