2010 Spring Semester - Beta Club Service Opportunities
Reminder: To stay in good standing with the Beta Club, you must earn a minimum of four (4) service points this semester. If you are on probation for failure to fulfill your service obligation, you need to make up your deficit points plus those for this semester.
· Items are to be turned in to your grade level sponsors only.
· You must sign the roster when you turn in service points. Materials are not to be left in the sponsors’ mailboxes or outside the sponsors’ doors. They will not be accepted.
· The grade level sponsor will make decisions concerning the approval for all items submitted as service points.
· The date given for turning in items is the final date. Please do not wait until the last minute to turn in your items.
· Please do not interrupt any class to turn in service materials. Items are to be turned in before school (by 8:15) or after school (3:30-3:45).
MAKE SURE YOU SIGN THE ROSTER and TURN IN THE TICKET WHEN TURNING IN ANY SEVICE POINTS TO ASSURE CREDIT
Service Opportunities:
1. Dorman Cavalier Academic Challenge – Saturday, January 23, 2010
2 points – all day, 1 point – morning session: See Mr. Huff for details.
2. Food Drive for the Needy – February 3, 2010
1 point for 6 cans of vegetables
3. Carry and Load Food – February 4, 2010
1 point - after school in Room B-222 or B-212 and must stay until all food is
loaded
4. Dorman Cavalier Band CIPA - Guard and Drums – January 30, 2010
If you plan to help you MUST SIGN UP WITH MRS. BREWER (B222) by January 29th to receive Beta service points
2 points – 4 hours of work, 1 point – 2 hours of work
Maximum of 2 points earned for this competition
5. Birthday Cards for the Elderly – February 26, 2010
1 point for 10 cards – Handmade cards – not computer generated – Limit 20
Must be on cardstock or construction paper
Do not use computer paper, no envelopes--Sponsors may refuse substandard cards!

1 point – two bags of individually wrapped candy (at least 8-12 oz. size)

1 point for each set of 4 different items (regular size):
Shampoo Toothpaste with 1 Toothbrush Soap (2-pack)
Deodorant Writing Tablet & 2 Pens Powder
Mouthwash Comb & Brush Lotion

10. Sort and Pack Mobile Meals Items – April 22, 2010
1 point – after school in Room B-222
11. Carry boxes to the Front Lobby – April 23, 2010
1 point - Before school at 7:45AM in Room B-222
